How home tan beds are different from salon tanning beds
Residential tanning beds are not as powerful a commercial salon beds, they usually have fewer lamps. But otherwise they operate on exactly the same principles. You get tan from exposure to UV rays of two types UVB and UVA. UVB rays are considered to be damaging to your health, but you need both types to get a good tan. Just UBA rays will not produce the desired result.
If you want to gets deep tan in just a short session aim to buy a more powerful home tanning bed. These are usually more expensive, but it will save you time. The more powerful the bed is, the more it costs. Also keep in mind that for your tanning bed to function properly you will have to replace the bulbs often. With time tanning bed bulbs become less powerful and sometimes it takes twice as long to get the right tan as under a new bulb.
All home tanning beds are not created equal.

I purchased two Prosun beds…I could have bought any beds I wanted…since I bought them new…I have gone through many acrylics…each one breaking in the same spot…they claim my clients must be pushing up on the top…not physically possible as the breaks are at their ear level and with the canopy down…they don’t have the ability to have the strength with arms down at their sides to do it…so, I’ve gone through eight acrylics so far and counting…today, one melted…it burned…can anyone out there help me out and tell me what’s going on as I’ve spoken with the VP Philip of the company and they all think it’s our fault…they set up the beds…not me…they even sent out one of their workers to look at them…and he said, no way did clients do this..he couldn’t figure it out…what’s the deal? I just want help please!
